THE PRAKTINA SYSTEM LENSES |
Kilfitt was one of the best and most innovative German lens makers of the 1950’s and 1960’s known for its macro, telephoto, and zoom lenses. Heinz Kilfitt started his own business in Munich in 1941 and established the Kilfitt Optische Fabrik in Munich in 1946. The first Kilar lens appears on the market in 1948. The 150mm was followed by the 90mm, 135mm, 300mm, 400mm and 600mm. In 1954 Kilfitt made world's first 35mm macro lens, the 3.5/40 Kilar, which was initially assembled in Vaduz (Liechtenstein) by the Kamerabau Anstalt. In 1966 Zoomar Inc. becomes the owner of the company and the production of lenses will continue until 1979 under the Zoomar name.
