Viewfinders

Different types of finders are available for the Praktina and they are suitable for all models: Eye-level Finder, Waist-level Finder, Metering Prism Finder, 6x High Magnification Finder. Are also available six different Focusing Screens.

Eye-level Finder

Type 1: the eye-level finder has the front covered with leather.
Version A shows the word Germany on the back. In version B this writing is missing.
Type 2: the eye-level finder has the logo KW on the front.
Version A has the eyepiece collar with thread and bayonet mount. Version B has an additional notch to fix some accessories.

Waist-level Finder

Type 1: the waist-level finder has two protrusions on the front and the casting at the base is solid
Type 2: the waist-level finder has two protrusions on the front and the casting at the base shows a cavity
Type 3: the waist-level finder has no protrusions on the front and the casting at the base shows a cavity

Metering Prism Finder

The metering prism finder has exposure indexes from 1 to 15, shutter speeds scale from 1/1000 sec to 60 sec, aperture scale from f/2 to f/22 and film speeds indexes ASA 6 to 400 / 9 to 27 DIN.
This finder does not fit Praktina IIA-A ver. 4, IIA-DA ver. 2 and Porst reflex.
There are two types with different sensitivity.
Type 1: to identify this type set ASA to 100 and the index mark to 1; at 1 sec. the f/number is 2.8
Type 2: to identify this type set ASA to 100 and the index mark to 1; at 1 sec. the f/number is 5.6

6x High Magnification Waist-level Finder

This finder for macro photography provides a full frame image with 6x magnifying power.

Focusing Screens

The focusing screens are available in six variants:
  • matte
  • matte with split-image rangefinder
  • matte with vertical and horizontal lines
  • matte with crosshair in clear glass centre circle
  • matte with cross centre lines with millimetre scales
  • clear glass with cross centre vertical and horizontal lines

Right-angle Viewing Attachment

The right-angle viewing attachment fits all eye-level finder and metering prism finder.
