The Fifth Generation
Praktina FX model SA3
The fifth generation was shown in February 1956, at the Leipzig Spring Fair. In this model were modified the body casting and the top cover, the internal cover of shutter focal plane, the film take-up spool, the screen lever lock, the mirror support and the camera back. In the second version were modified the size and edge of optical viewfinder and the ASA and DIN film speed settings of film reminder dial. Since 1957 the Praktina comes with a new type of eye-level finder, brighter and with different look.

The Praktina FX model SA2 and SA3 exported to some western markets have sometimes special markings. The body, the viewfinders and the camera back are painted or engraved with inscriptions as "GERMANY EAST" or "GERMANY U.S.S.R." or "GERMANY U.S.S.R. OCCUPIED". The logo "KW Germany" on the top of the camera is covered by a label with the "KW" logo, and the "Germany" inscription on the viewfinders and the lenses is milled (9 - 10 - 11 - 12).
